We Got Our TA

We got our travel approval today. I had not posted about this yet, but our plans have changed and Kevin will be traveling by himself. In January, I hurt my back and continue to have problems with that. It was found that I have a bulging disc and I am currently going through decompression therapy for this. My dr. does not think that it would be smart for me to try making the trip. Over the past two months I have had 2-3 episodes where I could not even walk and it comes on unexpected. Anyway...Kevin will leave on March 19th and return on April 2nd.

Chicken Pox

Drew's caregiver e-mailed us reporting that one of the children on Drew's floor had come down with the chicken pox. She said that apparently the whole first floor had the chicken pox! She said she would give us an update next week when she returned to the orphanage.

More News and Pics

Today we received more information about Drew. This morning when I checked my e-mail, I felt like a child on Christmas morning. I had 3 messages from Drew's caregiver!!! It was soooo exciting! His caregiver says that she was watching him play and that he was holding a bag with his left hand, using what would be his thumb, and putting flash cards in the bag with his other hand. She was much impressed by this. She reports that Drew's hair is more of a brown color, than black as most Chinese people are.

These are new pics that we received from one of Drew's caregivers. Kevin was able to contact her through e-mail. She reports that Drew is her favorite little boy and has been since the day she met him. He is the kindest, most loving little boy that you could ever wish for. He does have several orphanage behaviors, such as, pushing, hitting and biting, but has to in order to survive. She reports that they call him Gong Gong, pronounced Gang Gang and sometimes King Gong. He is very healthy and is not so fair skinned. He is currently potty training. He wears a size 2T and will soon be in a 3T. What a big boy!!! In the second pic, Drew is sitting on the far right. Isn't he just precious!!! I can't wait to get my hands on him! I am sure he will be a mama's boy!
